Photo Phriday – Huntington Gardens Flowers and Tiny Creatures

Today in an effort to keep myself distracted and spiralling into another black pit of depression Ms. Dancer and I decided to head to the Huntington Gardens for a photographing day. When I woke up this morning I thought about calling and cancelling and then I dragged my unwilling body out of bed and into the shower. I did not know what to expect today but let me tell you I was pleasantly surprised by how much fun I had and how good I felt after. Instead of staying in bed all day with the curtains drawn and marinating in my own sweat alone and turned inward on bad thoughts today with Ms. Dancer's help I managed to do something productive. Although initially it was difficult I am happy I made the effort. And with that the inspiration for this week Photo Phriday are flowers and tiny creatures I found at the Huntington Gardens.

THE BLUE TAILED DAMSELFLY

BROWN WIDOW

I am learning the more that I photo that that perfect shot takes a while. It isn’t like I can go on a hike and then just photo along the way. That really does not work, so I need to, like Ms. Dancer and I did today, let the photography dictate the day. For instance the orange dragonfly below that Ms. Dancer and I spent over an hour waiting to get. We were determined and in the end we won and that shot ended up being my favourite of the day!

You are soooo sweet thank you so much for the compliment. I am really proud how far I have come with my photography and it makes me feel good that you like it too! At least you will get to enjoy the millions of shots I will take of Jacob as he grows up!
