Palm Springs: Last One Standing

Mrs. Cutie Pie and I woke up relatively early and starving so we dragged ourselves out of bed and walked to Starbucks and sat on the patio eating. One of the things I missed out on that I always wanted was to live in a walking city. One of the things that I love the most about visiting places like Palm Springs is the walk ability of the area. Once we are there we never take our car anywhere.

I tried to keep my mind off Mishka all weekend but I was not very successful especially since the vet called this morning to let me know that Mishka had a bad night and therefore would not be going home within the next day or so as she had originally thought. So my day was clouded by me trying to leave everything in God’s hands.

The girls arrived in three waves but by 1:00pm we had all 9 girls which was everyone, partying at the pool. The last time we were here was for Ms. Bulldog’s bachelorette party it was so hot it was painful to breathe. I swear it was about 120 degree’s. This time however it was hot but not unbearably hot. I learned from the last time to split up my drinking with plenty of water to keep hydrated which I managed to do pretty well. We mostly drank in the pool, I worked a little on my tan, and I took a nap through most of a water fight between my friends and some guys in the pool. By 6:00pm most of the group were pretty trashed I was just a little buzzed. So I shuffled everyone upstairs to start getting ready for dinner.

I tried to dissuade the group from going to the same Mexican restaurant we went to last year because the greasy food was not great on our stomachs but I was overruled. At dinner where we waited almost 2 hours for a table we lost two girls who went back to the room to pass out before we even got sat. By the time dinner was over everyone was ready to go to bed. I however stayed up and shot pool for a while where I made some friends who invited me to their cousins party upstairs, where I had a few shots and stumbled to bed about midnight. The fact that I was the last one standing was odd because more often than not I am the lightweight of the group and one of the first in bed. Like last time we came here where I declared I was “Born Drinking” and passed out hours before anyone else.
