Joshua Tree State Park

Even though I feel less than 100% and I could desperately use another 10 hours of sleep with the weekend I had I left the girls in Palm Springs at 10:00am and was off to meet my parents, Mr. & Mrs. Traveler, in Joshua Tree. Normally I would not try to cram in a visit with a drinking weekend but my parents are leaving Monday morning our of the California area for Arizona and will therefore be to far away to visit again.

Unfortunately my mother got injured on a hike the day before so we were not able to really hike but we did visit Joshua Tree State Park so I could photo and see some of the sites. We stopped in three different areas and spent a lot of time in a small radius of where we parked but I was fascinated by the landscaping and the strange Joshua Tree’s.

The desert park was also blooming with flowers which were beautiful and attracted so many various insects. I took this opportunity despite the pretty intense breeze, which makes macro photography very difficult, to work with the new macro lens and my new obsession with insects.
