Will Work For Food

The men in my life have always been born fix-it men, and then I married my intellectual husband. Needless to say I have had to readjust some of the things that I have come to expect a man to be able to do, I have found out that men are not born with the fix-it gene, it is something that is learned. I guess I just got so used to handing over anything that was broken and expect it to be fixed. I know I am spoiled.

My parents have been trying to come out to Los Angeles to visit me since I moved here in 2005, because of circumstances out of their control this is the first time that they finally made it out for an extended visit. Because my dad is so good with fixing things my husband and I created a list of things to do around the house. My parents in an unfortunate turn of events needed repairs on their water tank which blew up on their RV, they travel in the RV full time, so because their home is in the shop they have been staying with us for the past 8 days. Dad has been working on the house and mom and I have been hanging out. As the joke is now going on around the house is that dad is essentially working off his and my mothers room and board fees in manual house labour, love you dad.

The boys have accomplished quite a bit of things on the list of ‘crap to get done around the house’ that Mr. Rogue did not quite know how to do himself. Now that they both worked on these together I am hopeful that when more things come up in the future my husband will know more about how to get it fixed.

Cabinets in the laundry room
Security Screen Doors
Outdoor Motion Lights
Kitchen Toe-kick Moulding
Crawlspace Covers
Installed Brinks

All this feels like magic and I could not be happier.
